My Music

This page includes original songs I have recorded and will be publishing on all the major streaming services. Below is a little background for each of the recordings, as well as the lyrics and chords for the originals.  I'm playing most or all of the instruments and singing most or all of the vocals. Thanks for listening!

I wrote "Finding A Home" in 1977 while attending UConn. A folk rock tune reminiscent of Peter Paul and Mary or The Byrds, it foretells an (apparent) future yearning to settle down in some place called home - a future that came true not too much later...

Maybe fulfilling the yearning of "Finding A Home", "Frontier Daze" tells the story of going out for a night on the town in Cheyenne, WY during Frontier Days (the "Daddy of Them All" in the world of rodeo) in 1979. I end up meeting my wife Linda (we married later that year) in a slightly comical fashion that night. The song reflects on not only that fateful night in Cheyenne, but the life we built for ourselves and our family over the years.

"Christie Liked to Rock and Roll" tells the story of my first trip to Telluride, CO for the Blues and Brew Festival. The song mentions several people who I met on that trip - some fairly famous musicians, others not so famous - but all of them were memorable, and there for the same reason - the music!

"Go Out and Face It" is my version of a song based on lyrics written by Joe Gilder as part of his Home Studio Corner internet community. If you have any interest in music production, I would definitely suggest checking out www.homestudiocorner.com. I've learned a lot from Joe and the community of folks producing music in their home studios!

"Tomorrow Morning (Blues)" expresses my frustration with new versions of the same wars that plagued the world generations ago repeating themselves today - with the result that our children and grand children will have to live with and fight the same battles of my generation. â€‹This is the blues version of the song including both lap steel and cigar box slide guitar parts. I have another version that I was never really satisfied with - I may re-release it some day...

I wrote "Too Much Time to Kill" a few days after the shooting at the High School in Winder, Georgia. Enough is enough. The song is intended to be disturbing - and a call to action for all of us in the US to take a brave step to reduce gun violence.

"Joe" is a song about my friend’s experience with his son's suicide and the strength that he and his wife have shown in moving forward with their lives. I can only hope that hearing my song might help someone else who may be facing the same horror to find a way through the darkness.

My version of Taps was played and recorded to participate in "Taps Across America", an annual tribute to our military heroes.

In addition to the original songs on this page, I also recorded covers of the following songs. These will be published on the streaming services along with my originals.

I recorded "Let It Be", doing my take on the classic, including a lap steel guitar.

I recorded "Save Your Water" from Tom Petty's Mudcrutch days. I added a lap steel and organ to give my version its own sound.

I recorded Tom Petty's "Wildflowers" to offer some comfort to one of my daughter in laws when she was going through a challenging time.

"Things Left Done" by "Brother" Paul Thorn is a very soulful song. Like all of Paul's songs, the lyrics are just killer.  Maybe this song will make you think of someone who was in your life - like it does for me. My friend Sylvain Rochon from homestudiologic.com played several instruments and produced this recording.

"All Along the Watchtower" is one of my favorite songs to play. It lends itself to being interpreted so many different ways. I think I play it differently every time I play it - the version I recorded is on the sultry side...

Enjoy!
